Halloween Oreo Brownies
These Halloween Oreo Brownies are rich and fudgy, with a whole layer of Oreos tucked inside and plenty of chocolate chips in every bite. Add some Halloween sprinkles and candy eyes, and you’ve got a festive dessert without any fancy decorating.
This is my kind of baking for a Halloween party or a Hocus Pocus night at home with the kids (we have plenty of those leading up to Halloween!) The batter comes together in one bowl, and the kids can help with the decorations. A few candy eyes count as making Halloween memories, and I’m absolutely taking the win here! They’re rich, fudge and the perfect treat. Grab a glass of milk and enjoy! 🙂

Equipment
- 1 8×8 baking dish
- 1 Whisk
- 1 spatula
Ingredients
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (50g) packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup plus 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- ½ cup (63g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 16 Halloween Oreos
- 4 additional Oreos chopped, for topping
- Halloween sprinkles and candy eyes as desired
Instructions
- Prep the pan. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Lightly coat with nonstick spray.
- Mix the wet ingredients. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter and both sugars until combined. Add eggs and vanilla, then whisk vigorously for 1 minute.
- Finish the batter. Whisk in cocoa powder, salt, and oil. Gently fold in flour just until no dry streaks remain, then fold in chocolate chips. Do not overmix!
- Layer. Spread half the batter in the prepared pan. Arrange the 16 Oreos in a single layer, then spread the remaining batter over them. Top with chopped Oreos and sprinkles.
- Bake. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the brownie portion comes out with moist crumbs, but no wet batter. Add more time as needed.
- Cool and enjoy. Let cool completely before lifting out of the pan and slicing. Enjoy!

Tips for Making This Recipe
- Don’t overbake. Look for moist crumbs on your toothpick, not a completely clean toothpick. Test the brownie portion, avoiding the Oreos and melted chocolate chips.
- Make them ahead. Bake the day before your gathering and store cooled brownies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
- Wait before slicing. Let the brownies cool completely so they hold their shape. For cleaner squares, wipe your knife between cuts.
