Equipment

Ingredients

For the Sliders

  • 12 Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1-1 1/2 lb ground beef I used 80/20
  • 1/2 white or yellow onion diced
  • 1/2 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp seasoned salt
  • 6 slices Land O Lakes® Yellow Deli American
  • 6 slices Land O Lakes® White Deli American
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

For Mom's Secret Burger Sauce

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp relish or diced pickles
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven. Preheat oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Make the burger sauce. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, vinegar, pickles, salt and pepper. Set aside.
  • Cook the beef. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef, onion, seasoned salt and garlic powder. Cook, breaking up the beef as it cooks, until browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess grease if needed.
  • Slice the rolls. Keeping the Hawaiian rolls connected, slice the entire sheet in half horizontally to create a top and bottom layer. Place the bottom half in the prepared baking dish.
  • Assemble the sliders. Layer 6 slices of American cheese over the bottom rolls. Spread the cooked beef evenly over the cheese, then top with the remaining 6 slices of cheese.
  • Add the sauce. Spread the burger sauce over the cut side of the top half of the rolls, then place them over the sliders.
  • Brush with butter. Mix the melted butter with the sesame seeds and brush evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  • Bake. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden.
  • Serve. Slice into 12 individual sliders and serve warm with extra burger sauce, if desired.
