Servings: 6 servings
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 large white/yellow onion
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp salt more to taste
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- 1 6 oz can tomato paste
- 1 cup whole or 2% milk
- 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
- 2 cups uncooked short pasta ziti, macaroni, shells, etc.
- 1 tsp beef bouillon powder optional
- 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded
Heat a large, deep pan over medium heat. Add ground beef and onions with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and salt. Cook until mostly browned. Drain any excess grease, if needed.
Add tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing it to heat before mixing it into the ground beef. Add tomato sauce, milk and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
Once simmering, stir in uncooked noodles and beef bouillon powder (if using). Cover with a lid and reduce heat to low. Cook for 7-10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stir if needed to prevent sticking.
Turn off the heat and add cheese. Stir until melted and incorporated. Top with more cheese, if desired, and enjoy!
