Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 large white/yellow onion
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt more to taste
  • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 1 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 1 cup whole or 2% milk
  • 1 cup beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups uncooked short pasta ziti, macaroni, shells, etc.
  • 1 tsp beef bouillon powder optional
  • 1.5 cups cheddar cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Heat a large, deep pan over medium heat. Add ground beef and onions with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika and salt. Cook until mostly browned. Drain any excess grease, if needed.
  • Add tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, allowing it to heat before mixing it into the ground beef. Add tomato sauce, milk and beef broth. Bring to a simmer.
  • Once simmering, stir in uncooked noodles and beef bouillon powder (if using). Cover with a lid and reduce heat to low. Cook for 7-10 minutes or until pasta is tender. Stir if needed to prevent sticking.
  • Turn off the heat and add cheese. Stir until melted and incorporated. Top with more cheese, if desired, and enjoy!
